LEON Best has arrived at Newcastle United's training ground to discuss a permanent move from Coventry City.
The striker, who had previously been a transfer target for Middlesbrough, is expected to sign a three-and-a-half year deal with the Magpies.
The 23-year-old is out of contract in the summer, and will join Newcastle for a minimal fee before the transfer window closes at 5pm.
Meanwhile, Newcastle have confirmed the departure of midfielder Geremi to Turkish club Ankaragucu.
The Cameroon international travelled to Turkey last month and was paraded in front of Ankaragucu fans only for Newcastle to deny a deal had been struck But a short statement this morning confirmed the transfer had now been completed on the final day of the window.
Geremi joined Newcastle in 2007 but failed to make much of an impact on Tyneside.
The former Chelsea and Real Madrid man is reported to have signed an 18-month contract with the club from the Turkish capital.
