EASINGTON Colliery came back from the brink of defeat to hit eight-man Silksworth for six in the first round of the Wearside League Cup.
Silksworth, who led 2-0, had Cameron Marshall sent off in the 25th minute, followed by Jordan Craike and Ross Taylor late in the game.
They made the early running and Anthony Rogerson scored after ten minutes then again just before half- time.
Two goals in 12 minutes by Tom Orchard and Robert Huntley took the tie into extra time and Huntley went on to complete a hat-trick.
Peter Crawford also scored and Gary Tyzack put through his own goal.
Leaders Ryhope CW maintained their double bid when they came from behind at Wolviston, who led through Glen Walker.
Martin Metcalfe levelled and in the last five minutes Dan Smith and John Butler booked their side’s place in round two.
