DURHAM City were completely outplayed when they went down 7-1 at Bradford Park Avenue in the UniBond Premier Division.
“Even though we were easily beaten, I can only credit the players for keeping their heads up and didnt buckle under,’’ said City boss Lee Collings.
City are marooned at the bottom of the Premier Division table without a point in 16 matches, and the only time they have won this season is in the Durham Challenge Cup, in which they play Shildon tomorrow night.
Whitby went out of the FA Trophy, losing 2-0 at home to Kings Lynn in the second qualifying round.
Blyth lost 4-1 at home to Ilkeston in the Blue Square North, playing for more than half the game with just ten men after Kenny Boyle was sent off. Former Darlington midfielder Adrian Webster scored Blyth’s consolation late in the game.
