Fulham 2 Hull City 0
BOBBY ZAMORA believes Fulham thoroughly deserved their 2-0 win over Hull in the Barclays Premier League last night.
The former West Ham striker opened the scoring two minutes before half-time and provided the pass which enabled strike partner Diomansy Kamara to double the advantage in the second half.
Zamora said: ‘‘The hard work has paid off. In previous games we’ve worked hard and not got the result we deserved but we deserve the three points tonight.’’ On his breakthrough, the striker added: ‘‘It was a great time to score and it was important to get the goal after dominating like we did.
‘‘We dominated the game with good possession, good football and good chances.
Maybe we should have got more goals but we’re over the moon.’’ Cottagers boss Roy Hodgson was happy with his team’s performance, as well as the result.
He explained: ‘‘We were unlucky at home to Arsenal and away to West Ham – the performances were better than the points tally – but tonight we tied the two knots together.’’ Hodgson’s strikers have not weighed in with too many goals prior to last night but Hodgson explained Danny Murphy taking Fulham’s penalties does not help.
‘‘If you’ve got an expert penalty taker who happens to be a midfield player sometimes forwards manufacture goals but have them taken away from them – but I’m pleased with their performance,”
said Hodgson.
‘‘We thought we could get better in the second half so the first goal changed nothing from a tactical point of view, although the mood did.”
