DURHAM City were knocked out of the FA Trophy following a 3-0 defeat at Salford City on Saturday.
City’s youngsters again acquitted themselves well but ran out of steam in the last 15 minutes.
After Durham keeper Marc Riches pulled off a good save, the UniBond First Division side went in front through Phil Howard on 35 minutes, and on 71 minutes Craig Mahon fired the second.
Salford made sure ten minutes from time when Howard was again on target.
Whitby Town easily beat Warrington 5-2 at the Turnbull Ground. Warrington took an early lead, but Tony Hackworth levelled from the spot. Whitby overwhelmed Warrington and scored through Ashley Lyth, Jimmy Beadle (2) and Danny Brunskill.
In the Blue Square North, Blyth ran riot against Hinckley, winning 6-1 to put them into midtable.
