KIEREN Fallon is looking forward to his most high profile day back in the saddle since his return to action at Newmarket tomorrow.

The former champion jockey replaces the suspended Jamie Spencer on Sariska in the Champion Stakes and has also come in for the ride on John Gosden’s High Twelve in the Jumeirah Dewhurst Stakes.

The juvenile was jointfavourite for the Royal Lodge when ridden by Jimmy Fortune but connections have opted for a change in the race that usually defines the leading two-year-old of the season.

‘‘He’s a lovely horse, he won his maiden well at Sandown. Obviously the Dewhurst is a tough race but I think he’s held in high regard and it’s a good ride to get,’’ said Fallon.

‘‘I got a phone call asking if I would ride him and rides like that don’t come along very often. Hopefully I can make the most of it.’’ High Twelve’s owner, Thomas Barr, is no stranger to changing jockeys with Tom Scudamore losing the ride to Andrew McNamara on his National Hunt horses, including Champion Hurdle hope Osana, earlier in the year.

Barr’s racing advisor Michael Goodbody said: ‘‘He is quite a difficult horse to ride, as you could see at Ascot.

‘‘There is no disrespect to Jimmy Fortune at all, but we saw that Kieren was available, and when the stakes are high you want the best available.
