NEWCASTLE United will kick off their pre-season preparations in Ireland with a friendly match against Shamrock Rovers on Saturday, July 11 (kick-off 3pm).
The Hoops are managed by former United striker Michael O'Neill and are currently in third position in the League of Ireland Premier Division.
The warm-up match will kick-off the Magpies summer programme with further dates already confirmed at Darlington (July 18), Huddersfield (July 21), Dundee United (August 2), as well as a home fixture with Leeds United (July 29).
Newcastle will spend some time at a training camp in Ireland prior to the game. Ticket details will follow in due course.
