DEFENDER Micky Nelson has confirmed he will be leaving Victoria Park this summer, after turning down Hartlepool United's contract offer.

The centre half has spent six seasons at the club.

Norwich and Scunthorpe are both keen on his services, with Colchester and Brighton also expressing an interest.

Boss Chris Turner told the club website, www.hartlepoolunited.co.uk: "I'm disappointed but I can understand his decision.''

Turner has already signed one central defender this summer in Sunderland's Hartlepool-born Peter Hartley.
