SUNDERLAND will travel to Tynecastle on August 8 for a pre-season friendly with Hearts, just seven days before the Premier League season starts.
And if £9m goalkeeper Craig Gordon can recover from injury time he will face his former club.
Hearts finished third in the SPL last season, six points ahead of fourth placed Aberdeen and they will be preparing for a drive in the Europa League.
Sunderland have already announced they will participate as England’s representatives in this summer’s Amsterdam Tournament which will also feature Atletico Madrid and Benfica as well as hosts Ajax - between July 24 and 26.
