NEWCASTLE
Newcastle subs (from): Krul, Edgar, Cacapa, Nolan, Geremi, Lovenkrands, Smith, Owen, Xisco, Ranger.
Aston Villa subs (from): Guzan, Reo-Coker, Gardner, Knight, Sidwell, Salifou, Delfouneso.
NEWCASTLE: Michael Owen will undergo a late fitness test, but even if the Newcastle skipper is given the all-clear, he is only expected to make the bench at Villa Park. Owen has missed a full week's training with the groin problem that kept him out of last weekend's defeat to Fulham. Habib Beye is definitely out with a hamstring injury, but fellow full-back Jose Enrique is fit to return following a hamstring problem of his own. Sebastien Bassong and Joey Barton are suspended, but Alan Smith (thigh) is fit.
Suspensions: Bassong, Barton
Injuries: Beye (hamstring), Kadar (leg), Carroll (ankle)
Last five league games: LWLDL
Leading league scorer: Owen, Martins 8
ASTON VILLA: Martin O'Neill is confident PFA Young Player of the Year Ashley Young will be fit for tomorrow's home game with Newcastle.
The winger limped out of the second half of last weekend's 1-1 draw at Middlesbrough with a calf strain, but has made good progress in his recovery. Young's namesake, right-back Luke, is rated very doubtful with the foot problem which has dogged him in recent weeks. As a result, former Newcastle player James Milner is expected to deputise at right-back.
Suspensions: None
Injuries: L Young (foot), Bouma (foot)
Last five league games: DLWDD
Leading league scorer: Agbonlahor, Carew 11
Key player: James Milner - Given the acrimony surrounding his departure last September, the former Newcastle player looks destined to score.
Last season: 1-4
League head to head: Newcastle 62, Aston Villa 49, Draws 30
Referee: Chris Foy (St Helens) G35 Y114 R2 Ave: 3.31
Last Newcastle game: vs Stoke (A) 11/04/09 D1-1 Y6 R0
Odds: H5/4; A2/1; D5/2
It's a fact: Newcastle have not dropped a point to a Midlands club home or away this season.
Comment by Scott Wilson: Everyone says there's always a twist, but in Newcastles case, could the twist be that there's no twist at all?
Prediction: 3-1
