DURHAM have offered a double compensation boost to anyone who was due to attend yesterday’s washout at Riverside.
As well as receiving a full refund following the abandonment of an entire day’s play, anyone with a ticket for yesterday’s second day will also receive a complimentary ticket for one of the final three days of the second Test between England and West Indies.
To claim a complimentary ticket, supporters should visit the box office outside Riverside and present their secondday ticket, which will be returned to them.
A complimentary ticket can be claimed on arrival for any of the remaining days of the Test match, but anyone wanting a ticket for today’s play is urged to arrive early as Saturday tickets will be distributed on a first come, first served basis.
As less than ten overs were bowled yesterday, a full refund will also be issued for the face value of a ticket.
Refunds are subject to a £1.40 administration charge per application, and to claim a refund spectators should send their ticket to the address printed on the back within 28 days.
Durham chief executive David Harker said: “We are disappointed the rain has prevented any play.
“We would like to offer the spectators who have missed out the opportunity to come along on any of the remaining days of the npower Test match as a gesture of goodwill.
We hope that they can take advantage of the offer and help us support England for the rest of the match.”
