PLAY has been abandoned without a ball being bowled at the second Test between England and West Indies at Riverside.
The umpires officially called things off at 4.09pm after constant rainfall prevented any play on the second day of the Chester-le-Street Test.
Rain began to fall at around 10am this morning, causing the players from both sides to scurry towards the pavilion for cover.
They failed to reappear, and play will now resume tomorrow morning with England continuing their first innings at 302-2.
Supporters with tickets for today's play can claim a full refund and a complimentary ticket for either Saturday, Sunday or Monday. Full refund details are available in an earlier story on this website.
