ALAN BERRY’S stable star Look Busy came out on top in a thrilling finish to the Listed EBF Lansdown Fillies’ Stakes at Bath.

The daughter of Danetime enjoyed a fantastic year in 2008 with victories in Group Three and Listed company featuring among a total of six successes.

Sent off at 7-1 for her first start of the campaign, the four-year-old travelled strongly for Slade O’Hara and held the late rattle of Crimson Fern by a nose.

Berry said: ‘‘She has been brilliant for us and she really sticks her neck out and tries.

‘‘I thought she might need it a bit today as she is just coming in her coat.

‘‘She is a little bit bigger this year and she might have improved a touch.

‘‘She’s won a Group race and a few Listed races and everything has gone right for her.’’ Peter Winkworth’s Raine’s Cross could be Royal Ascotbound after making an impressive racecourse debut in the freebets.co.uk Champions League Free Bets Maiden Auction Stakes.

The Cape Cross colt was sent off a well-backed 9-2 chance for the five-furlong heat, and was never too far off the pace under Jim Crowley.

Once given the office, he soon put distance between himself and his rivals, and only had to be kept up to his work to pass the post four and a half lengths clear of Avonvalley.

Assistant trainer Anton Pearson said: ‘‘It wasn’t a surprise as he has worked well, but you are never sure what you are meeting and other people could be thinking the same thing.

‘‘Jim (Crowley) got stuck up the rail and he was a big green early on but once he pulled him out, it was all over and done with.

‘‘The speed influence comes from the dam side, but he is not really a sprinter.

‘‘The plan is to go to Royal Ascot with him and whether we run him again before then we will have to see.

‘‘He’ll come on a bomb for this, and we’ll just see how it goes.’’ Ryan Moore had to be at his strongest to boot home Rosika in the Weatherbys Finance Median Auction Maiden Stakes.

Sir Michael Stoute’s filly was sent off at 2-1, and was in front soon after the turn for home. Dreamwalk looked like coming out on top when challenging inside the furlong, but Moore was in determined mood and ensured his willing partner came home a head clear.
