Middlesbrough 0 Fulham 0 MARK Schwarzer spoke fondly of his 11 years as Middlesbrough player in the build up to yesterday’s game.

Unfortunately for the Middlesbrough fans his didn’t let those feelings get in the way of his professionalism.

Three saves shortly after half-time cost Boro two points and could have effectively cost them their Premier League place.

The pick was a clawed effort to stop Tuncay’s header less than two minutes after the re-start.

A few of the Boro players were flat out on the pitch at the final whistle – but that may have been more to do with their on-field exertions rather than believing the points dropped have ensured they will be heading for the Championship come May.

It appeared nailed on Schwarzer would have a big part to play - but just how big may not become clear for five weeks.

Midway through the second half the supporters started getting a bit twitchy. It seemed amongst the Riverside fans this game was win or bust.

Schwarzer, along with the thousands of Boro fans, hopes it isn’t.
