LEADING scorer Joel Porter is fit to line up for Hartlepool United in tomorrow’s vital encounter at Yeovil.
The 21-goal leading scorer hobbled off in Monday’s 3-2 home defeat to Scunthorpe after returning from a groin strain.
But he does travel with his team-mates this morning and manager Chris Turner will send an attack-minded side out in the knowledge that three points would go a long, long way to ensuring League One safety.
“All clubs at the bottom will have been disappointed on Monday night because they will have looked at our game and thought Scunthorpe might get something,’’ he said.
“They were proven right but didn’t capitalise on it themselves, or most of them didn’t.
“I think we’ve got to go to Yeovil looking for three points.
“Can we go to Yeovil for a 0- 0? We managed it on Saturday (at Crewe) but the goalkeeper had to play really well at times.
“We’ve got to go and take the game to Yeovil on Saturday and try and win the game and that’s what we will do - try and win the game.
“We can’t go there and sit back and hope for a draw or hope for somebody else to lose.’’ Porter was off the pace on Monday, after he sat out the Crewe game last weekend.
He could be paired up front tomorrow with Daniel Nardiello, the loan striker who netted his first goal for Pools on Easter Monday.
“Joel went off early in the second half because of his knee,’’ said Turner. “You’ve got to play your leading scorer and you’ve got to start with him especially at home.
“I thought he lacked the sharpness and what we usually get from him and he took a knock on his knee in the second half, so I took him off.’’
