THE opening two rounds of the popular Derby Phoenix Motor Cycle Club championship series visits Croft Circuit near Darlington on April 18 and 19 with another capacity grid assembled.

There are several club champions from 2008 who will be in action including former National Superstock Cup rider Darron Bellworthy who clinched both the 1300cc Open Championship as well as the 1300cc Allcomers crown.

The experienced Alan Armour will be defending his F400 title and Ian Fleetwood will be looking to do likewise in F600. Also in the line-up are Novice 1300 champion James Ward and Dean Hair who won the Novice 600 series last year.

As usual, there will be a healthy North-East and Scottish contingent mixing it up with the DPMCC regulars over the two-day meeting which includes action for various classes for Solos from 125cc to 1300cc, Thunderbikes, F400, F600, Twins, Triples, and both F1 and F2 Sidecars.

Practice gets underway at 9.30am on Saturday with racing straight afterwards and on Sunday, the action gets underway at noon.

Adult admission is just £10 on both days with accompanied children aged 15 and under admitted free.
