ALEXANDER ISAK has declared himself fit to face Liverpool at St James' Park on Wednesday night.
In a major pre-match boost ahead of Newcastle United's home game with the league leaders, Isak says he has shrugged off the injury issue that forced him off during the first half of Saturday's 1-1 draw at Crystal Palace.
Isak was injured in the early stages of the game at Selhurst Park following a challenge from Palace full-back Tyrick Mitchell.
The Swede was left in considerable pain after injuring his hip, and was eventually taken off in the 21st minute.
After the game, Eddie Howe revealed Isak had suffered a contact injury rather than a muscular strain, but was unable to offer any guarantees about his availability for Wednesday's game with Liverpool.

However, in an interview with beIN Sports, Isak has revealed that he has recovered from the problem and expects to be able to line up against Liverpool.
Isak said: "I am fine. It was really painful, a bad knock, but I've responded well."
When asked directly whether he would be able to play against Liverpool, he added: "That's the plan."
Isak also discussed the pre-match flag display that Wor Flags arranged in his honour prior to Newcastle's home game against West Ham United last Monday.
He said: "I am humbled, but I wanted to give something back to the Newcastle fans. I wanted to do that anyway, but I have never felt like that anywhere else."
