Here's how Middlesbrough players rated in the 6-2 win at Oxford:

8 Brynn: Good early save to ease any nerves. Had a hand in Boro’s second goal and made a superb stop in the second half to deny Brannagan. In filthy conditions, an excellent full debut.

7 Ayling: Assured. Provided the protection to allow Doak to flourish again.

7 Edmundson: Typically solid at the heart of the defence.

7 Clarke: Excellent second half header to guide dangerous cross away to safety.

7 Borges: Worked hard up and down the left flank and linked up well with Burgzorg considering it’s a new pairing.

7 Howson: Couple of shaky moments early on but soon settled as Boro took control.

8 Barlaser: Took the chance he’s been waiting for. Positive in possession, bossed the midfield.

8 Doak: Oxford’s defenders now know how Manchester City’s Joško Gvardiol felt during the international break. Unplayable at full speed again. Inspired the turnaround by winning the penalty.

9 Azaz: Two more goals and two more assists. Took both goals brilliantly. Playing with such ease and confidence, another immense showing.

7 Burgzorg: Started well, with two powerful early charges down the left. Couldn’t get in on the act with a goal but another good attacking display to build on Luton showing.

9 Latte Lath: Clinical from the striker, who made no mistake from the spot and then added two more at the end of the first half and start of the second. Looks full of confidence again.
