Sunderland AFC have partnered with the Royal British Legion to produce a limited edition kit ahead of Remembrance weekend.

The club, working alongside Hummel, have created a "bespoke one-off warm-up shirt" to honour the armed forces.

Featuring the RBL's "trademark two-petal poppy", the shirt will be worn by Sunderland players ahead of upcoming fixtures during Remembrance week with match-worn shirts from the Remembrance fixture will also be auctioned after the game, in a bid to exceed the £6,935 raised for the charity in 2023.

A limited edition run of 1,000 shirts will be made available for fans to purchase. The kit costs £50, with a "significant portion of sales" going to the RBL.

Ben France, head of corporate partnerships at the RBL, said: "We are hugely grateful to Sunderland AFC and the club’s supporters for their unwavering support for our armed forces community.

"Every day, ex-service personnel who suffer from the demands and pressures of having served their country come to the RBL for expert advice and practical support.

"The money we raise from these shirts will enable the RBL to help those who struggle with the upheaval and disruption of service life, and life after service, from mental health issues to addiction, debt, homelessness and relationship breakdowns."
