JOCKEY Cieren Fallon flies in from Australia for three rides at Redcar’s final meeting of the season, fresh from landing one of the biggest races of his career Down Under.

Fallon swooped late on the William Haggas-trained Lake Forest to win the $10m James Squire Golden Eagle at Rosehill in Sydney on Saturday.

However, there was a sting in the tail for the jockey when he was handed a one-month suspension and a $100,000 fine for a ride that was judged to be “bordering on reckless”.

After all that drama, the contrast could hardly be greater as Fallon heads to Redcar – precisely 10,472 miles from Sydney – for his first rides since his return to England.

There are seven races on the Poppy Appeal Day card and Fallon kicks off in the first by reuniting with Haggas on course and distance winner Binhareer in the Racing TV Free Trial Now EBF Novice Stakes.

The Dark Angel colt was a comfortable winner of a Redcar novice on October 5 after being fifth of 11 on his debut at Leicester, and will be well fancied to follow-up.

Fallon and Haggas team up again with Al Waseela in the Jumps Free Trial At racingtv.com/freetrial Nursery. The Siyouni filly won on soft at Yarmouth before being sixth of 10 at Newcastle last time out.

She will have her work cut out against Say What You See, trained at Middleham by Liam Bailey, who was a mightily impressive winner of a Newcastle nursery last Friday.

Fallon hangs around until the penultimate race, the Jumps Free Trial On Racing TV Handicap, for an eye-catching spare ride on Ey Up Its Jazz for Tony Coyle and Kaine Wood.

The Malton handlers had a winner at the last Redcar meeting with Thunder Roar, and Ey Up Its Jazz deserves to get his head in front after three seconds this year.

Billy Loughnane is another star jockey to make the journey north to Redcar and he looks to have a good chance on King’s Scholar for Lambourn trainer Ed Walker in the Wear Your Poppy With Pride Handicap. King’s Scholar was an easy winner at Catterick last time out and seeks to follow up.

John and Sean Quinn starred with a double at the last Redcar meeting as part of a Jason Hart treble and the combination will fancy their chances with Liberty Coach in the racingtv.com/freetrial Handicap.

The gelding has been a model of consistency this year, winning twice and being placed four times, including when he was second to Ey Up It’s the Boss at Redcar on his last outing in late September.

Kevin Ryan’s well-backed Belsito looked all over the winner at Redcar’s last meeting before being collared close home by Michael Dods’ mud-loving Deputy. He can go one better in the Redcar Racecourse Supports RBL Poppy Appeal Handicap with Tom Eaves in the saddle.

The seven-race card ends with the Thanks And See You Next Season Apprentice Handicap. Rwenearlytheredad, trained at Malton by Declan Carroll and ridden by the capable Zak Wheatley, will be a popular choice among parents of small children.

The Havana Grey gelding stayed on strongly to win going away over seven furlongs at Catterick last time, and he can defy a penalty over the extra furlong of Redcar’s straight mile.
