Here's how Middlesbrough's players rated in the 3-0 defeat to Coventry City:
6 Dieng: Unconvincing with a couple of crosses but let down by defenders in front for goals.
6 Ayling: Somewhat surprising selection after Dijksteel’s impressive display last week. Looked a bit panicked at times but goal came down that side after he'd been replaced.
7 Edmundson: The best of Boro’s defenders. Made good first half block shortly before opener.
5 Clarke: Back in the team after van den Berg injury. Struggled with Coventry attack. Lost Wright for third goal.
5 Borges: Struggled to settle defensively and caught out for third goal.
6 Morris: Boro never got a grip of the game in midfield but Morris stuck at it.
4 Hackney: Nightmare afternoon for the midfielder, who was carded twice and sent off just halfway through the first half. Had early shot on goal but touch was heavy on a couple of occasions before his early dismissal.
4 Jones: Didn’t take his chance in the absence of Doak. Sloppy and careless early on, looked rusty. Heavy touch in second half costly after set up by Conway.
6 Azaz: Excellent play to set Conway away early on. Sacrificed after Hackney sending off.
6 McGree: Early strike just over the bar. Up against it but worked hard.
7 Conway: Boro’s brightest and best by far. Tireless display on difficult afternoon. Created second half chance for Jones and had shot blocked by Thomas.
