MIDDLESBROUGH'S away kit restock has been cancelled due to manufacturing issues.

The club had expected to receive the new stock of Errea-manufactured shirts on Wednesday but said it was not prepared to sell the shirts to fans because of a "fault in the latest batch of shirts to arrive."

In a statement, the club said: "We’re disappointed to inform fans that our away shirt will no longer be available on Wednesday.

"This is due to a fault in the latest batch of shirts to arrive, and we are not prepared to sell these items to our supporters."

The club has said that supplier Errea is working to rectify the error and will replace the faulty goods, but it is not yet known when the shirts will be available to buy.

Middlesbrough said they were "disappointed" with the length of time it had taken for the shirts to arrive and the quality of the items.

The club said they understand the situation is "completely unacceptable" and they will be "taking action to ensure this isn’t repeated in future seasons."
