AARON CONNOLLY is on the substitutes' bench for Sunderland's Championship game at Hull City this afternoon.
Having scored three goals in two outings for the Under-21s during the international break, Connolly will hope to make his senior Black Cats debut against the side that released him at the start of the summer.
With Wilson Isidor getting the nod to remain in the starting side in attack, Regis Le Bris has stuck with the same side that started the 2-2 draw with Leeds United prior to the break.
That means Chris Mepham continuing alongside Luke O'Nien at centre-half, with Trai Hume and Dennis Cirkin filling the full-back berths.
Patrick Roberts and Romaine Mundle retain their places in the wide-attacking positions, with Adil Aouchiche joining Milan Aleksic on the bench.
HULL (4-3-3): Pandur; Coyle, Jones, Hughes, Drameh; Simons, Mehlem, Puerta; Belloumi, Bedia, Kamara.
Subs: Racioppi, McLoughlin, Giles, Millar, Palmer, Zambrano, Slater, Burstow, Pedro.
SUNDERLAND (4-3-3): Patterson; Hume, Mepham, O'Nien, Cirkin; Rigg, Neil, Bellingham; Roberts, Isidor, Mundle.
Subs: Moore, Johnson, Hjelde, Browne, Watson, Aouchiche, Aleksic, Connolly, Rusyn.
