ANTHONY Gordon got the pre-match drinks in for Newcastle United fans ahead of today's game against Brighton.
United's forward put money behind the bar at The Strawberry in the city as a way of saying thanks to the fans for their support after he missed a penalty against former club Everton before the international break.
The gesture has gone down a treat with supporters, who have taken to social media to thank the England forward.
One fan posted on X: "He’s fully invested in our fans and the city that’s for sure. Doesn’t need to do it but that’s the class of the fella."
Gordon will now be hoping to put his frustrating Everton miss behind him by helping Newcastle get back to winning ways against Brighton this afternoon.
After missing the penalty at Goodison Park, head coach Eddie Howe said of Gordon: "I think naturally he’ll be disappointed but it was a much better performance from him than here last year. I thought he dealt with the occasion really well.
“Anyone can miss a penalty. We absolutely support him, he’s been incredible for us."
