MICHAEL Mulhern says Middlesbrough Women will have to play "out of their skins" as his in-form side look to carry their league momentum into the cup when they take on West Brom this weekend.

Unbeaten Boro are top of Division One North with five wins from seven games, the latest of which came against York City in midweek.

Now, they're preparing for the toughest test of the season so far this weekend when they take on West Brom, who are seventh in the Northern Premier Division, the league above Boro, in the FA Women's National League Cup.

"We'll need to be on top of our game to beat them," said Mulhern.

"We know that, we'll have to play out of our skins."

But Boro won't lack confidence after their superb start to the campaign.

A goal from Mille Bell and a double from Lauren Robson secured Wednesday night's 3-0 win over York at Redcar.

Mulhern said: "I'm happy with the result and performance. It was very professional from start to finish. We controlled everything really.

"They were organised out of possession and made it difficult and we had to be patient. It was a test and we had to problem solve, which is part of the learning.

"We should have scored a lot more than three but that doesn't matter. We're creating chances and I'm really pleased. Hopefully the fans who came to watch were entertained."

Boro's cup tie against West Brom will take place at Stockton on Sunday, with kick-off at 2pm.
