Here's how Middlesbrough's players rated in the 2-1 defeat at Watford:

6 Dieng: Solid enough for the most part. Might feel he could have done better with Watford’s equaliser.

6 Ayling: Early cross should have been turned home by Azaz. Switched off for Watford’s winner.

7 Van den Berg: Brilliant early tackle to deny charging Jebbison. Strolled through the game until Watford's surprise late turnaround.

7 Edmundson: Shook off warm up scare to put in another solid showing. Scored goal that should have set Boro on way to win.

6 Borges: Comfortable and solid for the most part but Watford’s leveller came from down his side.

7 Hackney: Dominated the midfield and game for long spells. But Boro lost control after Watford’s equaliser.

7 Morris: See Hackney. So impressively comfortable for so long before Boro lost their way late on.

6 Doak: At times frustrating for the Liverpool loanee, who was shackled well by Sema, but stuck to his task and was always the man Boro were looking for. Denied goal by fine Bond save after opener.

7 Azaz: Should have scored early on with headed chance but was at the heart of a lot of Boro’s good play after that.

6 Hamilton: Didn’t see as much of the ball as he’d have liked, with Boro targeting the right side, but bright and confident enough. Forced first half save from Bond.

6 Latte Lath: Should do better with headed chance late in first half. Goal ruled out after Edmundson’s opener and forced good save from Bond. Could do with a goal.
