How did the players fare in Newcastle United's 1-1 draw with Manchester City
NEWCASTLE (4-3-3):
7 Pope: Got himself into trouble in the first half, but made a superb late save to keep out Bernardo’s volley
7 Trippier: Was beaten by Grealish for Man City’s goal, but otherwise did well against a difficult opponent
8 Schar: Barely put a foot wrong at the heart of Newcastle’s back four – made some hugely-important challenges
7 Burn: Was turned for Gvardiol’s goal, but did superbly to keep Haaland quiet as he matched the City striker for physicality
8 HALL: Produced his best display in a Newcastle shirt as he blocked crosses and marked Bernardo out of the game
7 Tonali: Improved the standard of Newcastle’s midfield play and set the tone for an improved second-half display
7 Guimaraes: Tore around the field winning tackles, and just about stayed on the right side of the disciplinary line
8 Joelinton: His commitment exemplified Newcastle’s much-improved display – won lots of tackles at the heart of midfield
6 Murphy: Made some effective breaks down the flank, although didn’t always use the ball as well as he might have
7 Gordon: Had a difficult afternoon playing through the middle, but came good when it counted, winning and scoring the penalty
6 Barnes: Got into some decent positions down the left, but wasn’t able to ask a serious question of the City defence
