A Darlington 12-year-old is set to compete in the national finals of the British Junior Drag Racing Championship on Friday with ambitions of the title.
Candra Redshaw will be racing at Santa Pod Raceway, hoping to beat some of Europe's fastest young drivers.
Candra races in an ODYSSEY® battery branded Junior Dragster, which can reach speeds of up to 85mph and goes from 0-60mph in just over three seconds.
The car was passed down to her by her eldest brother, Harry, a former British and French Champion. Her other brother, Damion, is also a competitive drag racer.
"I’ve been watching my brothers race for years and gradually I’ve noticed more girls starting to take part," Candra said.
"I’m excited to have the chance to show what I can do in the British Junior Drag Racing Championship.

EnerSys, a global leader in stored energy solutions for industrial applications and the manufacturer of ODYSSEY® batteries, is sponsoring Candra.

The Redshaw siblings' love for drag racing comes from their dad, Chris, who has been passionate about motorsport for as long as he can remember.
He helps the trio with the mechanical side of things, while their mum, Tracy, oversees operations.
Candra’s twin sister, Lilly, tows her sibling racers in her half-scale Land Rover® vehicle.
