KIERAN TRIPPIER is on the bench for Newcastle United's home game with Tottenham, after being linked with a possible move to Turkey.

While the English transfer window closed on Friday evening, the Turkish one remains open for another two weeks and Trippier has been linked with a possible move to Super Lig side Eyupspor.

The Turkish media are reporting that Eyupspor, managed by former Barcelona player Arda Turan, have agreed terms with Trippier, who is amongst the substitutes at St James' Park this afternoon.

Magpies boss Eddie Howe has made one change to the side that started Newcastle's last league game against Bournemouth, with Harvey Barnes getting the nod ahead of Jacob Murphy.

Barnes is expected to start on the left-hand side, with Anthony Gordon switching flanks to play on the right.

Lloyd Kelly continues to left-back, with Emil Krafth partnering Dan Burn at centre-half in the absence of the suspended Fabian Schar.

Sandro Tonali is back in the squad for a league game for the first time in almost a year, but the Italian is only on the bench after starting Wednesday's Carabao Cup win at Nottingham Forest.
