Here's how Middlesbrough's players rated in the 1-0 defeat at Derby:

6 Dieng: Didn’t have much to do. Derby only managed one shot on target other than their goal.

6 Ayling: Got forward at every opportunity but delivery wasn’t up to usual standard, though he did create second half chance for Latte Lath

6 Van den Berg: Surprisingly sloppy with a couple of first half passes but hardly tested defensively.

7 Clarke: Crunched into a couple of first half tackles. Another good display. Unfortunate not to keep a clean sheet and to be on losing side.

5 Engel: Sloppy in possession at times and didn’t offer much going forward.

6 Hackney: Saw loads of the ball and tried to be positive in possession but couldn’t find a way through Derby defence. Had one second half strike from distance tipped over the bar.

6 Morris: Busy in the midfield and always on the want for the ball but had two organised Derby lines of players in front of him.

5 Jones: His mistake ultimately cost Boro the game. Tried to make amends and went close late in the first half but a frustrating afternoon for the winger.

7 Azaz: Boro’s likeliest route to goal in the first half, looked a threat. Didn’t see as much of the ball in the second.

7 Burgzorg: Created Boro’s first chance and looked a threat in the second half. Had a goal ruled out for offside and hit the post.

6 Latte Lath: Bright early on and looked sharp but didn’t really look like scoring other than header wide early in second half.
