MIDDLESBROUGH have completed the signing of forward Tommy Conway from Bristol City.

Conway has joined Boro in a deal worth around £4.5m, with the Teessiders having beaten off competition from a number of their Championship rivals in order to land the Scotland international.

Conway, a 22-year-old forward who can play as a central striker or in a wide-attacking position, has signed a four-year deal on Teesside.

He  was named Bristol City's Young Player of the Year last season after scoring 12 goals over the course of the campaign.

Having joined Bristol City's academy at the age of seven, Taunton-born Conway made his senior debut for the Robins in April 2021 after spending time on loan at non-league Yate Town and Bath City.

He clocked up almost 100 appearances for the Ashton Gate club, scoring 25 goals in the process.

Qualifying for Scotland via his paternal grandfather, he made his senior international debut earlier this summer and was part of Steve Clarke's squad at the Euros in Germany last month.

Boro head coach Michael Carrick said: "We're delighted to bring Tommy in. He's a good age, he has great potential and we're really excited to work with him.

"He's already got plenty of Championship experience, and he's a great addition to the squad."

Conway becomes Boro's fifth senior signing of the summer following Luke Ayling, Delano Burgzorg, Aidan Morris and Micah Hamilton through the entrance door.
