Middlesbrough are in Carabao Cup action when they take on Leeds United on Wednesday.

Here are all the details you need to know about the game…

WHERE IS THE GAME TAKING PLACE?

Having kicked off the new Championship season with a home win over Swansea City, Boro head out on the road in the first round of the Carabao Cup as they take on Leeds United at Elland Road.

Boro have a poor recent record at Elland Road, having failed to win any of their last eight matches at Leeds’ home ground. Last season’s league meeting at the stadium ended in a 3-2 win to Leeds, with Emmanuel Latte Lath scoring both of Boro’s goals.

The Teessiders’ last victory at Elland Road came in August 2011, with Marvin Emnes scoring the only goal of the game as Jonny Howson was sent off in a match that saw Leeds finish with nine men.

WHAT TIME IS KICK-OFF?

Wednesday’s game kicks off at 8pm.

ARE TICKETS STILL AVAILABLE?

No – Middlesbrough have sold their entire allocation of more than 4,000 tickets for the away section at Elland Road.

The club received an additional tranche of tickets last week, but these have now all been sold.

IS THE GAME BEING TELEVISED OR STREAMED LIVE?

Yes – Middlesbrough’s game at Leeds is being televised live by Sky Sports on the Sky Sports Main Event and Sky Sports Football channels.

With the game being televised live, there is no domestic streaming option available for supporters.

Radio commentary for the match will be available on BBC Radio Tees, and The Northern Echo’s Scott Wilson will be at Elland Road providing live coverage of the game on The Northern Echo website as well as a report, reaction, ratings and post-match analysis.

WHAT IS MIDDLESBROUGH’S LIKELY LINE-UP?

Michael Carrick is expected to make changes for Boro’s opening game in the Carabao Cup, although he admitted at his pre-match press conference he had to strike a “difficult balance” given the strength of the opposition.

Either Sol Brynn or Tom Glover will replace Seny Deing in goal, while Carrick has confirmed that Micah Hamilton is set to make his Boro debut at some stage. That could be from the bench though, with the youngster only having arrived from Manchester City last Friday.

Josh Coburn is also in the squad despite the ongoing speculation linking him with a possible move to Millwall, and could start ahead of Emmanuel Latte Lath, who could be rested ahead of Saturday’s lunchtime kick-off at Derby.

Luke Ayling and Jonny Howson will both be desperate to start given their Leeds links, while Carrick could also promote the likes of Dan Barlaser, Alex Gilbert and Delano Burgzorg into the starting line-up.

Middlesbrough (probable, 4-2-3-1): Brynn; Ayling, van den Berg, Howson, McCormick; Barlaser, Hackney, Jones, Gilbert, Burgzorg; Coburn.

HOW ARE LEEDS SHAPING UP?

Leeds had a dramatic and high-scoring start to the season as Brenden Aaronson’s stoppage-time goal secured a 3-3 draw with Portsmouth.

Like Carrick, Thomas Farke will be pondering a number of changes for Wednesday’s game as he looks to give some game time to the players who were not involved against Pompey.

Former Boro striker Patrick Bamford was a second-half striker at the weekend, but could be handed a starting spot on Wednesday.

Similarly, summer signing Joe Rothwell could be handed his first competitive Leeds start after joining the club on loan from Bournemouth.

Leeds (probable, 4-3-3): Darlow; Bogle, Wober, Struijk, Byram; Rothwell, Crew, James; Aaronson, Bamford, Piroe.
