MIDDLESBROUGH are unconcerned by fresh transfer reports in Italy claiming up to four clubs are keeping tabs on Emmanuel Latte Lath.

Monaco, who have previously been linked, Red Bull Salzburg, Stuttgart and Wolves are all reportedly monitoring the striker.

But Boro have made their stance crystal clear this summer: Latte Lath is not for sale. The striker is happy and unless there was an eye-watering offer simply too good to turn down and significantly north of the Championship club's record sale, Boro wouldn't be remotely tempted to cash in.

Interest and speculation was inevitable this summer on the back of Latte Lath's impressive first season at the Riverside, but Boro haven't received any offers for Latte Lath this summer.

Boro have been willing to go public in their desire to keep hold of their star assets this summer, with head of football Kieran Scott previously saying Latte Lath "isn't for sale, we don't want to let him go."

Scott said: "Steve (Gibson) is really bullish about keeping our best players. We know we can't aim for promotion and then let our best centre-forward go."

Boro are looking to add to their forward line, with Tommy Conway talks ongoing. The capture of another centre-forward to provide further competition for Latte Lath and Josh Coburn has always been a priority on Teesside this summer.

Latte Lath will lead the line for Boro in their Championship opener against Swansea City this weekend with the Ivory Coast international looking to pick up where he left off last season.

The 25-year-old had a slow start after joining from Atalanta 12 months ago but after putting a couple of injury disruptions behind him, the frontman finished the campaign as the Championship's form striker, scoring nine goals in his last eight games.

He scored 16 league goals in total, plus one more in the Carabao Cup.

Earlier this summer, Matthias Veneroso, Latte Lath's agent, said: “He’s doing well at Middlesbrough, the club loves him and he has a contract."

At the end of last season, boss Michael Carrick backed Latte Lath to carry his form into his second campaign on Teesside.

He said: “We’ve hoped and known the potential he had and his strengths and attributes.

“He’s had a really incredible patch in terms of scoring goals and there’s no reason he can’t build on that going into next year.”
