BRUNO Guimaraes got his first taste of summer action as Newcastle United went down 2-0 to Yokohama F. Marinos in Japan on Saturday.
Goals either side of half-time from Élber and Jun Amano secured victory for the Japanese side, as the Magpies now prepare to head back to the UK to conclude their summer programme.
Boss Eddie Howe made changes on the back or the midweek win over Urawa Red Diamonds, with new signing Lloyd Kelly making his first appearance of the summer. Kelly and Bruno both got 45 minutes under their belt, as did Fabian Schar.

Odysseas Vlachodimos also started, while Miguel Almiron benefited from a full 90 minutes.
Newcastle will now be boosted by the return of Anthony Gordon and Kieran Trippier, who are due to report back for pre-season this week.
Howe's side will now wrap up their season preparations against Girona and Brest at next weekend's Sela Cup.
