NEWCASTLE UNITED are in advanced talks to sign Sheffield United forward William Osula.

The Magpies have reportedly tabled a bid worth around £15m for the 20-year-old, with around £10m set to paid as an up-front fee and up to £5m of potential additional add-ons, according to Sky Sports.

Osula, who can play as a striker or a wide attacker, is a Denmark Under-21 international who spent his formative footballing years in the youth ranks at FC Copenhagen.

He left his native Denmark to join Sheffield United’s academy in 2018 and signed his first professional contract with the Blades three years later in the summer of 2021.

He made his senior debut in March 2022 at the age of 18, and spent the 2022-23 campaign on loan at Derby County, scoring five goals in 21 appearances.

Osula was back at Sheffield United last season, and made 21 Premier League appearances without scoring. He did, however, score two goals in an FA Cup win at Gillingham and also found the net in an FA Cup home defeat to Brighton.

Newcastle have made four signings so far this summer, although one of those deals was the transformation of Lewis Hall’s initial loan move from Chelsea into a permanent transfer.

The Magpies have also recruited goalkeeping duo John Ruddy and Odysseas Vlachodimos, and brought in free agent Lloyd Kelly following his release from Bournemouth.
