SUNDERLAND will kick off the 2024-25 Championship season with a trip to Cardiff City.
The Black Cats will head to South Wales for a televised season-opener on Saturday, August 10, with the game kicking off at 12.30pm and being shown live on Sky Sports.
Sunderland’s first home game comes on the following weekend, and is a repeat of the final home fixture of last season with Sheffield Wednesday visiting the Stadium of Light on August 17.
Burnley head to Wearside on the following weekend, with September’s standout game coming courtesy of the visit of Middlesbrough for the Wear-Tees derby on September 21.
The first midweek league fixture of the season does not come until October, with Sunderland hosting Derby County on Tuesday, October 1, and that game precedes a home meeting with Leeds on October 5.
Sunderland are at home on the weekend before Christmas, hosting Norwich, but will head on their travels on Boxing Day as they visit Ewood Park to face Blackburn Rovers.
The final game of 2024 sees Sunderland head to the bet365 Stadium to face Stoke City on December 29, before 2025 begins with a New Year’s Day home game against Sheffield United.
The trip to the Riverside to face Middlesbrough is scheduled for Saturday, February 1, with the trip to Elland Road to take on Leeds coming a fortnight later on February 15.
Sunderland’s final away game of the season takes them to the Kassam Stadium to face Oxford United on April 26, with the campaign ending with a home game against QPR on Saturday, May 3.
