How did the players fare in England's 1-1 draw with Denmark at the Euros?
ENGLAND (4-2-3-1):
6 Pickford: Might have got closer to Hjulmand’s strike, but made a couple of important stops from other long-range strikes
7 Walker: His searing turn of pace was the key to England’s goal – could have done with getting forward more
6 Stones: Just about managed to hold things together as Denmark built up a head of steam in the second half
8 GUEHI: England’s best player – and it’s just as well he was. Made a number of crucial blocks and tackles
6 Trippier: Was solid enough for the most part, but his attacking threat is completely blunted when he plays on the left
4 Rice: Uncharacteristically poor – kept on giving the ball away and seemed to get rattled in the second half
4 Alexander-Arnold: The experiment of playing him in central midfield has failed – surely Southgate will leave him out against Slovenia?
5 Saka: Was just starting to show signs of life when Southgate decided to take him off in the second half
5 Bellingham: Nowhere near as effective as he had been against Serbia – England couldn’t seem to get him on the ball
6 Foden: Brighter than he had been at the weekend, and was unlucky with a second-half strike that rattled the post
6 Kane: Scored when the ball dropped his way in the first half, but still doesn’t seem completely fit
Subs:
5 Gallagher (for Alexander-Arnold, 54): Added some bite, although he did pick up a booking
5 Bowen (for Foden, 69): Didn’t really have a chance to get free down the flank
5 Eze (for Saka, 69): A couple of nice touches, but nothing that might have changed the game
6 Watkins (for Kane, 69): Made a couple of bright darts behind the Danish defence
(not used): Henderson (gk), Ramsdale (gk), Konsa, Gomez, Dunk, Mainoo, Wharton, Gordon, Palmer, Toney.
DENMARK (3-4-1-2):
Schmeichel 6; Andersen 6, Christensen 7, Vestergaard 6; Maehle 6, Hjulmand 8 (Norgaard 82), HOJBJERG 8, Kristiansen 4 (Bah 57, 6); Eriksen 7 (Olsen 82); Wind 6 (Damsgaard 57, 5), Hojlund 7 (Poulsen 67, 5).
Subs (not used): Ronnow (gk), Hermansen (gk), Kjaer, Kristensen, Zanka, Jensen, Dolberg, Brun Larsen, Dreyer.
Man Of The Match: PIERRE-EMERICK HOJBJERG – The Spurs midfielder gave Denmark the kind of midfield control England were craving.
