NEWCASTLE UNITED will kick off the 2024-25 season with a home game against Southampton.

The release of the Premier League fixture list for the new campaign has seen the Magpies handed a much easier start than they encountered last term.

And with the television selections for the opening weekend having been confirmed, Newcastle know they will begin the new campaign with a 3pm kick-off on Saturday, August 17.

After hosting the newly-promoted Saints, Eddie Howe’s side will head to the Vitality Stadium for their first away game of the season against Bournemouth on the following weekend. August then ends with a home game against Tottenham.

Manchester City visit St James’ Park in late September, with Newcastle hosting Arsenal on Tyneside at the start of November.

December begins with a home game against Liverpool, with the long trip to Portman Road to take on Ipswich scheduled for the weekend before Christmas.

Newcastle are at home on Boxing Day, hosting Aston Villa, and head to Old Trafford to take on Manchester United between Christmas and New Year.

There is no New Year’s Day game this year, with Newcastle’s first match of 2025 seeing them travel to Tottenham on January 4.

The second half of the season contains a series of difficult away trips, with Newcastle heading to the Etihad Stadium to take on Manchester City in February, a fortnight before they travel to Anfield to face Liverpool.

Manchester United visit St James’ Park in mid-April, with Newcastle’s penultimate home game seeing them host Chelsea on May 10.

The Magpies’ final away game of the season is a daunting one  as they head to the Emirates to face Arsenal on May 18, before the campaign ends on the following weekend with a home game against Everton.
