SUNDERLAND WOMEN forward Emily Scarr has signed a new two-year contract with the club.

Scarr, who joined Sunderland in 2020, has penned a new deal that commits her to the Black Cats until the summer of 2026.

The 24-year-old won Sunderland's Women's Player of the Year award in each of the last two seasons, having finished as the club's top scorer in each campaign.

She was in prolific form at the end of last season, scoring seven goals in ten games in the FA Women's Championship, including braces in 3-0 victories over Sheffield United and Watford and the opener in the 5-3 derby victory against Durham Women.

On signing her new deal, Scarr said: “I’m really happy. I definitely feel like this is the place for me to progress and develop as a player.
