CROFT CIRCIUT  will echo to the sounds of the past this weekend when the Classic Racing Motorcycle Club returns to the North Yorkshire circuit.

Fans can look forward to two days of racing featuring solo and sidecar machines recreating action from the 1960s, 1970s, 1980s and mid-1990s as round three of the popular series heads north.

Lining up on the grid will be a wide variety of classic UK marques including Manx Nortons, BSA Goldstars and Matchless G50s. Also featuring will be the European manufacturers with Ducatis, Moto Guzzi and BMWs alongside early Japanese machines from Suzuki, Yamaha, Kawasaki, and Honda, giving spectators plenty of variety to enjoy.

As Croft revisits a golden era of racing there will be a packed programme with 31 races set to be held over the course of the weekend as well as on-track parades from the likes of the GP Legends, classic solo machines, and classic sidecars.

Saturday’s action includes the classic sidecar, superbike originals and MotoSuperbike races. Sunday’s line-up of racing will see the ACU Post Classic Championship, ACU Classic Championship and Supermono GB competitors battle it out for the honours with double points up for grabs in the eight-lap race.

The on-track action gets under way at 9.30am on Saturday with practice and starts at midday on Sunday with practice before racing begins. Adult admission is £18 on the gate on both days with accompanied children aged 15 and under admitted free. There is free car parking and free paddock access.

AFTER an absence of six years, the popular Jack Frost Stages Rally will return to Croft Circuit on February 1 next year.

Organised by Darlington and District Motor Club, the event hasn’t featured at the North Yorkshire track since 2019 but with the return of the sport to Croft in recent years, spectators and competitors alike will have the chance to watch two events there over the winter period.

As well as the Jack Frost Rally taking place in February 2025, later this year Northallerton AC will be running the popular Swift Signs and Shirts Winter Stages Rally on Sunday, November 24 with many of the country’s leading drivers set to be in action.

The event didn’t run in 2023 due to a clash with the traditional Roger Albert Clark Rally, but a capacity entry is expected in late November with details to follow later in the year.
