ANTHONY PATTERSON has been dropped to the bench for Sunderland's final game of the Championship season against Sheffield Wednesday.
Patterson has been an ever-present in the league for the Black Cats this season, but he is only on the bench this afternoon.
Instead, Mike Dodds has promoted Nathan Bishop to the starting line-up for the first time since August's Carabao Cup defeat to Crewe Alexandra.
Dodds has made two changes for the final game of the campaign, with Patrick Roberts also returning to the starting side.
Roberts replaces teenager Chris Rigg, who drops down to the substitutes' bench, with Corry Evans and Bradley Dack also named amongst the replacements.
