ELLIOTT OBATOYINBO has signed a new two-year deal to remain with Newcastle Falcons.
The 25-year-old moved to Kingston Park from Saracens in the summer of 2022 and has made 33 senior appearances for Falcons, scoring three tries.
Delighted to have pledged his future to Newcastle, the Lancashire-born full-back said: “I’ve been here for almost two seasons now and I really enjoy it.
“I love the guys here and I’ve made some great friends, so that part of it was a no-brainer.
“On the rugby side, Steve Diamond has come in, our performances have already been a lot better and I really want to be a part of the Falcons’ journey moving forward.”
Asked what he hopes to add to the squad during the next two seasons, Obatoyinbo added: “I’m nearly 26 now and I want to bring some of my experience to what is a pretty young backine.
“I want to use my footwork and speed to help create attacking opportunities for the team, and I’m really looking forward to these next couple of seasons.”
Falcons’ consultant director of rugby, Diamond, said: “I’m really pleased that Elliott is going to be with us for the next two years.
“He’s a great pro who has impressed me a lot since I arrived at the club. He’s very good under the high ball, he’s strong in attack and it’s great news for us that he has decided to stay with the Falcons as we look to move the club forward.”
