MIDDLESBROUGH'S head physio Chris Moseley is leaving the club after more than two decades at the Riverside to take up an exciting new challenge in New York.

Moseley has been a constant in the Boro first team set-up for more than two decades, having first joined the club at the start of the 2002/03 season.

He was part of the backroom team that led Boro to the 2004 Carling Cup success and enjoyed the glorious UEFA Cup journeys followed.

Moseley says he feels "privileged" to have played his part at Boro over the last 22 years as he prepares to take up a new role as Head of Medical at New York Red Bulls.

Today's game against Blackburn Rovers at the Riverside will be Moseley's last at Boro before he starts his new role.

Moseley, who started at Boro as a first team physio before becoming head physio in 2011, wrote on X, formerly Twitter on Friday night: "Tomorrow will be my 1012th and last game for Boro before I take up the position of Head of Medical at New York Red Bulls.

"I feel privileged to have been part of the club's history, being in the backroom team that won the Carling Cup, had fantastic UEFA Cup runs and the highest ever Premier League finish.

"I have worked with some unbelievable members of staff, managers and players during my time, while experiencing the high and low periods and memories associated that will always live with me.

"Too many people to thank but they know who they are and special thanks to Tony Mowbray, who gave me the chance to lead the department, Adam Reed for being my lieutenant for 18 years, Nick Allamby, who has been my right hand man from the start and of course Steve Gibson. Without him, none of us would be here.

"Good luck to Michael and the boys going forward. You are in good hands. Thanks for having me. UTB."
