Sunderland are in action when they take on Leicester City in the Championship on Tuesday.
Here are all the details you need to know about the game…
WHERE IS THE GAME TAKING PLACE?
Having lost to Norwich City at Carrow Road at the weekend, Sunderland return to home soil as they take on Leicester City at the Stadium of Light.
The Foxes will be attempting to complete a league double, having triumphed 1-0 in the reverse fixture at the King Power Stadium in October thanks to a first-half goal from James Justin.
Sunderland have a mixed home record against Leicester, with their last four home matches against Tuesday’s opponents having resulted in a win, two draws and a defeat. The two sides’ most recent meeting on Wearside came in December 2016 and saw Sunderland claim a 2-1 win courtesy of a Robert Huth own goal and a second-half strike from Jermain Defoe.
WHAT TIME IS KICK-OFF?
Tuesday’s game kicks off at 7.45pm.
ARE TICKETS STILL AVAILABLE?
Yes – home tickets for Tuesday’s game are available via the ticketing section of Sunderland’s official website.
Prices start at £32 for adults, £29 for Over-65s, £24 for Under-22s and £14 for Under-16s.
IS THE GAME BEING TELEVISED OR STREAMED LIVE?
Yes – Tuesday’s game is being televised live on Sky Sports and will be available on the Sky Sports Football channel via the red button and on the Sky Sports app.
With the game being broadcast live on TV, there is no domestic streaming available.
Radio coverage of Tuesday’s game will be available on BBC Radio Newcastle, and The Northern Echo’s Scott Wilson will be at the Stadium of Light producing a live blog, report, ratings, reaction and analysis on The Northern Echo’s website.
WHAT IS SUNDERLAND’S LIKELY LINE-UP?
Dan Ballard is available again for Sunderland after serving a two-match suspension, and the centre-half is expected to go straight back into the starting line-up.
Leading scorer Jack Clarke remains unavailable though after suffering ankle-ligament damage, with the winger not expected to be back in full training for at least another month.
Patrick Roberts is also still out, but while Callum Styles started in midfield in Saturday’s defeat at Norwich, the January signing from Barnsley could be replaced by Abdoullah Ba against the Foxes.
Luis Hemir started up front at Carrow Road, and interim boss Mike Dodds will have to decide whether to stick with the Portuguese youngster or recall either Nazariy Rusyn or Mason Burstow.
Sunderland (probable, 4-2-3-1): Patterson; Hume, O’Nien, Ballard, Hjelde; Neil, Ekwah; Ba, Bellingham, Mundle; Hemir.
HOW ARE LEICESTER SHAPING UP?
While Leicester continue to sit at the top of the table, Enzo Maresca’s side are having their shakiest spell of the season ahead of their trip to Wearside.
Saturday’s surprise home defeat to QPR followed previous reverses to Leeds United and Middlesbrough, and means the Foxes have failed to take a single point from their last three games. As a result, their advantage over second-placed Ipswich Town has been cut to just three points.
Maresca can at least call upon first-choice centre-half Jannik Vestergaard on Tuesday, with the defender available again after suspension.
Dennis Praet suffered an injury in the early stages of Saturday’s loss to QPR though, and is expected to join Ricardo Pereira and Wilfried Ndidi on the sidelines. Maresca will have to decide whether to stick with Patson Daka, who led the line for the opening hour at the weekend, or recall veteran forward Jamie Vardy, who came off the bench for the final 30 minutes.
Leicester (probable, 4-2-3-1): Hermansen; Choudhury, Vestergaard, Faes, Justin; Winks, Dewsbury-Hall; Fatawu, Akgun, Mavididi; Daka.
