How Newcastle's players rated in the 2-2 draw with Bournemouth:
6 Dubravka: Game of two halves for the keeper, who was brilliant in the first 45 minutes, twice denying Solanke but slipped to gift Bournemouth striker the opener.
7 Trippier: Good battle with Tavernier. Used his experience to help Newcastle through testing spells. Tried to get forward at every opportunity.
6 Schar: Stepped out of defence when he could. First half shot strung hands of Neto.
5 Botman: Struggled to deal with Solanke. Nowhere near his commanding best.
5 Burn: Struggled all afternoon with Semenyo, who scored winner, with defender replaced soon after.
7 Bruno: Tried to drive Newcastle forward. Very nearly forced goal when he broke behind Bournemouth defence and had cross deflected just wide.
6 Longstaff: Dropped slightly deeper in second half. Not at his best but brilliant defence splitting pass set Almiron away early in second half.
6 Miley: Calm in possession. Needed more steel around him as Newcastle once again lacked control in midfield.
6 Almiron: Bright in flashes, had shot just wide in first half and just over in second.
6 Barnes: Worked hard in first start since September. Linked up well with Gordon. Replaced at midway point of second half.
7 Gordon: Fact he’s not a natural striker was at times evident but he was tireless throughout and deserved goal from the spot.
Substitutes:
6 Murphy (for Barnes, 66): Energetic from the bench.
