MICHAEL CARRICK has confirmed Josh Coburn has suffered another injury setback that forced his withdrawal from the squad for Middlesbrough’s 2-1 home defeat to Bristol City.
Coburn was absent from the matchday squad for today’s game as he continues to struggle with a longstanding groin issue.
The striker was unable to train for part of last week, forcing Carrick to leave him out of his thoughts for today’s game.

With Emmanuel Latte Lath also unavailable, Boro did not have a centre-forward available to face Bristol City, forcing Carrick to continue with Sam Greenwood as the central striker.
Coburn will be reassessed in the next 24 hours, with Boro returning to action on Wednesday evening when they head to Preston.
“It’s a little bit step by step with Josh at the moment, with the issue he’s got in and around his groin, and his pelvis,” said Carrick, who watched his side suffer their latest home setback as they conceded two goals in two minutes in the first half.
“We had to pull him out for a couple of days, so we’ll see if he improves going into next week.”
