ALEXANDER ISAK has not made the squad for Newcastle United's home game against Luton Town this afternoon.
But Harvey Barnes and Callum Wilson both return to the substitutes' bench to end lengthy injury absences.
Isak suffered a groin injury in the first half of Newcastle's midweek win over Aston Villa at Villa Park.
Jason Tindall suggested the Swedish striker had a chance of making today's game when he spoke at his press conference yesterday, but Isak has not recovered sufficiently to make the squad.
As a result, Miguel Almiron returns to the starting line-up, with Anthony Gordon expected to play as Newcastle's central striker.
Almiron's return is the only change to the side that kicked off at Villa Park on Tuesday night.
There are two significant alterations on the substitutes' bench though, with Barnes and Wilson both having been passed fit to return to the squad.
Barnes has been sidelined since suffering a foot injury in September, while Wilson has missed the last five games with a hamstring problem.
NEWCASTLE (4-3-3): Dubravka; Trippier, Schar, Botman, Burn; Longstaff, Guimaraes, Miley; Murphy, Gordon, Almiron.
