SUNDERLAND transfer target Kieffer Moore looks set to stay with his current club, Bournemouth, beyond tonight's transfer deadline.

The Black Cats have held a series of discussions about Moore this month, and have lodged a formal loan offer in an attempt to take the Wales international to the Stadium of Light.

However, Sunderland's executive team have been unable to come up with a financial package that would be acceptable to Bournemouth, who are unwilling to sanction a loan move that would see them having to continue to pay a significant portion of Moore's wages while he was not in their squad.

Ideally, if Bournemouth were to lose Moore this month, they would prefer it to be on a permanent basis.

Ipswich Town and Cardiff City are in the same position as Sunderland - unwilling to complete a permanent transfer and unable to agree the terms of a loan move - so it looks increasingly likely that Moore will be remaining with Bournemouth.

The Cherries have imposed a cut-off point for any discussions as they head to the London Stadium this evening to take on West Ham United in the Premier League.

Assuming Moore does not leave, he will be on the bench for that game, so Andoni Iraola does not want any ongoing transfer discussions to disrupt his pre-match preparations.

Moore was part of the Bournemouth squad that travelled to a hotel in London yesterday.

As a result, if an agreement cannot be reached in the next few hours - and that looks increasingly unlikely - Bournemouth will call off talks.

Speaking about Moore's situation at his press conference yesterday, Iraolo said: "He will travel and he will be in the squad. It is the same situation."
