EDDIE Howe admits he's frustrated for Newcastle United's travelling supporters after two "strange" kick-off times in quick succession.
Travel arrangements for United's fans were complicated by the selection of a 7pm kick-off time for Saturday's FA Cup victory at Fulham, while tonight's game at Aston Villa doesn't get underway until 8.15pm.
"Both are strange," said Howe.
"It does look like a lack of care for the supporters.
"When you consider the loyalty and passion Newcastle supporters show, you know there's going to be a huge number that want to go to the game. We thank them for their support and sympathise about the travel arrangements.
Alan Shearer was part of the Newcastle contingent at Craven Cottage, and Howe said: "If Alan could be in more away ends, that would be more than welcome!
"He seemed to inspire a positive result - and definitely played a part in an incredible away atmosphere.
"I wasn’t aware he was there but the supporters were in good voice considering the travel difficulties - now it makes more sense he was there."

The Magpies head for Villa tonight looking to build on the Fulham victory and to get back on track in the Premier League. Howe says he hasn't given up on Champions League football despite the fact his side are 14 points behind tonight's opponents, who currently occupy fourth place.
Howe hopes Miguel Almiron - whose future remains uncertain - is available tonight but the game looks likely to come too soon for Jamaal Lascelles.
Howe said: "We hope Miggy will be with us. Jamaal I'm not sure about.
"It's not a serious injury but it might be enough to keep him out of this game. It will be close.
"Harvey (Barnes) is getting closer. He's probably the closest, along with Callum Wilson. Then you go a little bit further back to (Joe) Willock and then further back to (Elliot) Anderson."
