How did the players fare in Newcastle United's 2-0 FA Cup win at Fulham?
FULHAM (4-2-3-1):
Rodak 5; TETE 6, Diop 5 (Tosin 71), Ream 5, Robinson 6; Reed 5 (Palhinha 71), Lukic 5; Wilson 5 (Willian 45, 5), Pereira 5 (Cairney 65, 5), Decordova-Reid 4 (Jimenez 71); Muniz 4.
Subs (not used): Benda (gk), Castagne, Francois, Vinicius.
NEWCASTLE (4-3-3):
7 Dubravka: Wasn’t overly-extended, but made an important first-half save as he clawed Muniz’s shot around the post
8 Trippier: Put in a real shift before hobbling off in the closing stages – his deliveries helped set up both of Newcastle’s goals
7 Schar: Dealt with Fulham’s attacking threat and was calm and composed when he had the ball at his feet
8 BOTMAN: Made a series of tackles and blocks to keep Fulham at bay and set up Burn’s goal with a header that was saved
7 Burn: Prevented Fulham from creating much down their right and was in the right place to score his side’ second
7 Miley: Delivered an energetic display on the left of Newcastle’s midfield and kept the ball well in tight spaces
6 Guimaraes: Started slowly as he conceded possession in the first half, but improved in the second period
8 Longstaff: Drove Newcastle forward from his midfield position and produced an excellent finish to break the deadlock
6 Murphy: Wasted an early chance by shooting straight at Rodak, but worked hard on his return from a two-month absence
6 Isak: Didn’t see a lot of the ball, but counter-attacked effectively and tested Rodak with a powerful second-half strike
7 Gordon: Stretched the Fulham defence as he broke in the second half and was always a useful ‘out ball’ for his side
Subs:
Livramento (for Murphy, 75)
Krafth (for Trippier, 86)
Ritchie (for Gordon, 90+4)
(not used): Karius (gk), Dummett, Hall, A Murphy, Hernes, Parkinson.
Man Of The Match: SVEN BOTMAN – The Newcastle centre-half was back to his best as he shut down a series of Fulham attacks.
